What We Do

Four pillars,
one method.

Explore Pamodzi Community Initiative’s four areas of focus: education, health, climate resilience, and financial inclusion and enterprise.

Pillar I · Education

Mobilising investment for quality education.

We help communities define education priorities, organise local resources and identify the technical or institutional support needed to move the work forward.

Projects are designed for community participation in planning and maintenance, with appropriate alignment to education authorities and district priorities.

  • Schools and classroom blocks Construction and rehabilitation.
  • Science and ICT laboratories Plus libraries and learning resources.
  • Teachers’ housing and sanitation The facilities that keep staff in post.
  • Digital learning and teacher capacity Institutional strengthening and public-private partnerships.
Pillar II · Health

Resilient, people-centred health systems.

We help communities define health priorities and identify the professional, public and practical support required for safe, relevant initiatives.

Health work is designed to align with relevant authorities and qualified providers while keeping local needs and participation at the centre.

  • Health Centre II, III and IV facilities Hospitals and maternity wards.
  • Theatres and diagnostic laboratories Plus staff accommodation.
  • Equipment and ambulances Modern medical equipment and transport.
  • Energy, water and digital health Renewable systems, WASH and health-worker development.
Pillar III · Climate & green development

Locally led climate solutions.

We support communities to identify climate solutions that protect ecosystems while strengthening sustainable local opportunity.

Community participation is the point — partnerships can strengthen conservation, renewable energy and climate-smart development while aligning work to Uganda’s climate and sustainable development commitments.

  • Renewable energy Solar, mini-hydro and biogas systems.
  • Climate-smart agriculture Irrigation and water resource management.
  • Afforestation and restoration Landscape restoration and green infrastructure.
  • Waste management and education Environmental education in communities.
Pillar IV · Financial inclusion & community enterprise

The foundation of the whole model.

We support community-owned financial practices that improve financial capability, encourage entrepreneurship and help members organise resources responsibly.

Savings groups, cooperatives and other member structures can create a disciplined foundation for enterprise and shared priorities, subject to the governance and legal requirements that apply.

  • VSLAs, SACCOs and cooperatives Strengthening existing community structures.
  • Youth and women’s enterprises Enterprise development and peer support.
  • Financial literacy and investment readiness Business incubation and digital financial services.
  • Responsible resource use Clear governance for long-term community benefit.
